SANTA FE, NM – According to KRQE, a hit-and-run driver struck a woman and two children on Paseo de Nopal on Tuesday.
Authorities believe the driver of a 2005 Chevy Equinox hit the 40-year-old woman and two children, ages 8 and 12, around 6:10 p.m. The driver then fled the scene.
First responders transported the three people to an area hospital. The two kids were released from the hospital, while the woman remains in critical condition.
Deputies located the vehicle they believed was involved in the collision at Paseo de La Tierra and Estrada Calabasas. The Equinox had front-end damage and matched the description of the vehicle involved in the crash.
Authorities urge anyone with information on the driver or the incident to contact deputies.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver ran over and killed a man who was lying in the far-right lane of westbound Montgomery Blvd near San Mateo Blvd on Wednesday, according to KOB.
The driver of an older white Lincoln sedan hit the victim around 2 a.m.
Following the collision, the driver stopped in a nearby parking lot.
The driver told police he thought he saw a cardboard box in the road. When he felt a thump as he drove over it, he realized it could be something else, so he pulled over to check and wait for first responders.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the incident. They do not believe impairment or speed were factors.
