Driver strikes bicyclist, flees scene in Santa Fe County

SANTA FE COUNTY, NM – According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, a vehicle collided with a bicyclist near NM 399 and US 84 on Thursday morning.

Michele Savinsky, 47, was allegedly driving a gold car when she hit a 54-year-old woman riding a bicycle.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

Following the collision, Savinsky reportedly fled the scene.

A witness gave deputies her license plate number, which was found to be registered to Savinsky. Not long after, deputies went to Savinsky’s home and arrested her.

Authorities have charged Savinsky with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily harm, reckless driving, and failure to render aid.

Emergency crews respond to crash in north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to the scene of an accident on the Paseo Del Norte Boulevard Northeast eastbound near the Rio Grande River Tuesday morning.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 7:34 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
