Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with pedestrian on S Main St in Roswell

ROSWELL, NM – According to KOAT, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian on the 500 block of S Main St on Sunday.

Nancy Caro-Chavez, 49, was crossing S Main St when Santiago Hernandez, 25, allegedly ran her over around 9 a.m.

Officers pulled over Hernandez and performed a traffic stop. They determined Hernandez was impaired following a breathalyzer and a field sobriety test.

Authorities arrested Hernandez and charged him with reckless driving, vehicular homicide, aggravated DWI, and driving without a license. Hernandez was booked into the Chavez County Detention Center.

Wreck disrupts traffic in north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A crash blocked traffic at I-40 WB and University Blvd NE on Monday, according to KKOB Traffic.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 4:32 p.m.

Officials have not released additional details.

Crash reported on I-40 near Carnuel

CARNUEL, NM – According to BCSO, a traffic accident was reported on I-40 EB near Carnuel on Sunday.

The incident happened around 4:52 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
