Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with off-duty APD officer

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – According to KOB, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed an off-duty APD officer near Coors Blvd SW and Chapulin Rd SW on Wednesday.

Bianca Quintana was walking when the driver hit her around 1 a.m.

Following the collision, the driver fled the scene.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Driver hurt following 2-vehicle collision near Taylor Ranch

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver was hurt following a two-vehicle crash near Coors Blvd NW and Montaño Rd on Wednesday night.

A person was driving a Honda Civic south on Coors Blvd NW when they turned in front of a person driving a northbound Jeep Wrangler with no lights on and collided with it around 8:30 p.m.

The Jeep driver was thrown from the vehicle in the crash. Rescue crews transported him to an area hospital with severe injuries to one of his legs.

Authorities determined the Honda driver did not display signs of impairment. They believe speed was the primary factor in the collision.

Emergency crews respond to crash on US 491 near Naschitti

NASCHITTI, NM – According to NMRoads, first responders were called to the scene of an accident on US 491, 2 miles north of Naschitti, on Thursday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 8:55 a.m.

Officials have not released more information.
