ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Major property damage was reported Friday afternoon after a U-Haul truck slammed into a T-Mobile store in northeast Albuquerque, reports KRQE.
The incident occurred within the Coronado Center shopping mall, located off Menaul Boulevard Northeast.
Few details have been released at this time, but Albuquerque Police arrived to find the moving truck crashed into the business, leaving a sizable hole in the building’s side.
Authorities did not say whether the event may have been related to a smash-and-grab scheme, but the driver fled the scene. It remains unclear from which direction the U-Haul came from when it crashed.
No injuries have been reported.
A search for the driver and an investigation was underway.
