Gallup police investigating death of pedestrian hit by semi-truck

GALLUP, NM – Police in Gallup are seeking the public’s help in their investigation into the death of a pedestrian last month.

According to a police press release, the incident happened Feb. 3 on Interstate 40 west near exit 22. Officers responded to the scene at 10:56 p.m. and found a female pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene. A witness reported that she had been hit by a semi-truck but provided no details about the vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to report it to the Gallup Police Department, Metro Dispatch, or Crime Stoppers.

Crash blocks lanes on Paseo Del Norte over the Rio Grande

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office posted a traffic alert on Wednesday night due to a crash in Albuquerque.

As a result of the accident, BCSO deputies shut down the number one and two lanes of westbound Paseo del Norte over the Rio Grande.

Drivers were advised to slow down because of the roadway being reduced to one lane.

Several injured in rollover accident in Chaves County

CHAVES COUNTY, NM – Injuries were reported in a single-vehicle accident in Chaves County on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of Alamo Road and Hachita at about 4 p.m.

Several people were reported to have been injured, including juveniles. No further details were released on the extent of the injuries.

The investigation into the wreck was conducted by New Mexico State Police.
