Fatal crash shuts down stretch of I-40 east in Albuquerque

ALBQUERQUE, NM – Police were called to the scene of a fatal accident in northwest Albuquerque on Thursday night, according to KOAT.

The incident took place on Interstate 40 eastbound at 98th Street at about 10 p.m. No details were immediately released on who had been killed.

Traffic on eastbound I-40 was diverted onto 98th Street while the crash was being cleared and investigated. The interstate was reopened early Friday morning

There was no word on the circumstances that led to the wreck.

Bridge struck in accident on Paseo del Norte near 2nd Street

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Traffic was diverted in a section of Albuquerque following a crash on Wednesday afternoon, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said.

In a traffic alert issued at 4:38 p.m., the BCSO said deputies were blocking all of westbound Paseo del Norte at the Rio Grande and diverting traffic off Paseo to 2nd Street.

No injuries were reported in the accident, but the bridge there was struck and required inspection by the Department of Transportation. The roadway was reported to be reopened at 5:41 p.m.

Deputies respond to rollover crash in Roswell

ROSWELL, NM – Authorities responded to a rollover crash in Roswell on Thursday morning.

According to a post by the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office at 11:17 a.m., the accident happened on Stargrass Road. The driver said he was trying to navigate a turn in the roadway when he lost control, and the vehicle rolled onto its side.

The driver declined any medical attention. No other vehicles were involved.
