Driver strikes, kills suspect fleeing police on Interstate 40

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOB, the closure of westbound Interstate 40 near Carlisle Boulevard Northeast on Wednesday was due to a fatal auto vs. pedestrian collision.

An officer found a pickup truck stopped in the far right lane of the Carlisle exit intersection around 12:30 p.m. The officer discovered the truck was stolen and identified the driver as Dale Hinds, 53. Hinds had warrants for possession of a controlled substance, criminal property damage, resisting/evading arrest, aggravated fleeing, criminal trespassing, and receiving stolen property.

Hinds ran across the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 and was fatally struck by a driver as he entered the westbound lanes.

The New Mexico State Police is investigating the incident.

Auto accident disrupts traffic on New Mexico 152 in Kingston

KINGSTON, NM – A crash blocked traffic on eastbound New Mexico 152 near mile marker 40 on Thursday, according to NMRoads.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 11:11 a.m.

Officials have not provided more details.

Wreck reported on Interstate 10 in Tortugas

TORTUGAS, NM – According to NMRoads, an auto accident was reported on westbound Interstate 10 near mile marker 143 on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 7:24 a.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
