Driver pleads guilty after crashing into Albuquerque police vehicle

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A man has pleaded guilty in connection with a crash involving an Albuquerque police vehicle, according to KRQE.

The incident occurred in 2025 at the intersection of Wyoming Boulevard and Copper Avenue. Authorities said an Albuquerque Police sergeant was responding to a call when his unit was struck by a vehicle whose driver ran a red light.

The driver, Andrew Sandoval, pleaded guilty to aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer with no injury or great bodily harm. His sentencing hearing will be held at a later date.

The sergeant was transported to the hospital but was not seriously injured.

Rollover accident blocks lane on Interstate 25 south

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A rollover accident disrupted traffic along a stretch of Interstate 25 in Bernalillo County on Tuesday evening.

According to a traffic alert from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at about 7 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of the accident in the area of I-25 southbound at the 220 exit, at Rio Bravo Boulevard. The #3 lane of southbound I-25 was blocked off just south of the exit.

Drivers were advised to use caution when traveling in the area.

2 injured after vehicle crashes into tree in Roswell

CHAVES COUNTY, NM – Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wreck in Roswell late Friday night, the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The crash took place in the area of Eisenhower Road and McGaffey Drive at about 11 p.m. When the deputies arrived, they found two people in a vehicle that had struck a tree and rolled several times. The occupants of the vehicle were transported for medical attention, but no details were released on their condition.

New Mexico State Police also arrived to handle the crash investigation.
