Driver killed when vehicle runs off road on Interstate 25

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Albuquerque early Saturday morning, KOAT reported.

The crash took place along Interstate 25 southbound in the vicinity of San Mateo Boulevard at about 3 a.m. Albuquerque police said the driver of a Mercedes SUV was apparently traveling too fast for the turn while trying to exit the interstate.

The car went off the roadway and landed in an open area north and below the off-ramp. The driver, a female, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.

The police department’s Fatal Crash Unit is investigating the fatal wreck.

Crash causes lane closures in area of Isleta Boulevard

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A crash resulted in lane closures Tuesday night in a section of southwest Albuquerque.

The incident happened in the area of Isleta Boulevard and Rio Bravo Boulevard, according to a traffic alert at 8:29 p.m. from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The turning lane to northbound Isleta Boulevard and all of southbound Isleta were closed while deputies and emergency responders worked the scene.

Drivers were advised to use caution when traveling through the area. All lanes were reopened about an hour later.

Traffic slowed on I-25 northbound due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Traffic was slowed on Interstate 25 north in Albuquerque on Monday afternoon due to a crash, NMRoads reported.

An advisory shortly after 4 p.m. stated that the wreck happened at mile marker 225, in the area of Lomas Boulevard. The left lane of the interstate was shut down due to the accident response.

Officials notified drivers to proceed with caution and expected delays on I-25 near the scene.
