Driver killed in collision with semi-truck on I-10 in Lordsburg

LORDSBURG, NM – A car and a semi-truck were involved in a deadly collision on Interstate 10 in Lordsburg on Friday afternoon, according to KTSM.

 New Mexico State Police reported that the driver of a Honda Accord was going west on I-10 when the crash occurred near miepost 46 at about 12:15 p.m. The Honda driver crossed the center median into oncoming traffic and collided with the semi head-on, causing the truck to overturn.

The Honda driver was trapped in the car, and despite attempted life-saving measures, the person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

NMSP said there were no signs that alcohol was a contributing factor. I-10 was shut down for over four hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.

Accident causes lane closure on I-40 west of Moriarty

MORIARTY, NM – An accident disrupted traffic along a stretch of Interstate 40 on Saturday afternoon, the New Mexico Department of Transportation said.

An advisory on NMRoads at 12:56 p.m. reported that the crash occurred on I-40 westbound at mile marker 185, nine miles west of Moriarty.

The left lane of the interstate was shut down while emergency crews were responding, and drivers were advised to expect delays.

BCSO responds to fatal crash on Interstate 25

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a fatal crash in Albuquerque Saturday morning.

According to an alert from the BCSO at 6:35 a.m., the accident shut down Interstate 25 northbound at Broadway Boulevard. No details were released on who had been killed in the incident.

Drivers were advised to use Broadway as an alternate rout ewhile the deputies were conducting their investigation.
