Driver fatally struck on I-25 near Santa Fe after wrong-way crash

SANTA FE, NM – An accident south of Santa Fe on Tuesday evening left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.

New Mexico State Police said a driver was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-25 near La Bajada shortly before 7:30 p.m. and crashed into a guardrail. When the driver got out of the vehicle, they were fatally struck by another vehicle. State Police said two people in the second vehicle were injured.

I-25 was shut down in the area for several hours during the crash investigation.

Injuries reported in accident on Interstate 40 near Carnuel

CARNUEL, NM – Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a vehicle crash near Carnuel on Tuesday morning.

A traffic alert from the BCSO, posted at 11:52 a.m., states that the incident happened on eastbound Interstate 40 and resulted in minor injuries.

Multiple lanes of eastbound I-40 were shut down in the area while the sheriff’s office and emergency crews were responding to the wreck.

Crash shuts down stretch of I-25 near Waldo Canyon exit

SANTA FE, NM – A vehicle crash affected traffic for hours along a stretch of Interstate 25 on Tuesday evening, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports.

The crash, reported at about 7:30 p.m., shut down I-25 southbound near exit 267 for Waldo Canyon Road. There was no immediate word on whether anyone had been injured.

New Mexico State Police were at the scene along with crews from area emergency departments, and the roadway remained closed to traffic as of 10 p.m., according to the report.
