Driver hits, kills with pedestrian in International District

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Accordng to KOAT, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian on Central Avenue near Louisiana Boulevard NE on Friday.

The driver of a black Chevy Malibu was driving in the bus lane when they hit a man walking to the ART bus stop on Central Ave.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.

An automated license plate reader caught the suspect’s license plate. The license plate is registered to a person in Rio Rancho. Authorities went to the address, but the Chevy Malibu was not there.

Officials have not released the victim’s name.

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating.

Wreck reported on I-25 in South Valley

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – A crash was reported at I-25 and Broadway Blvd SE on Friday, according to KKOB Traffic.

The incident blocked north and southbound lanes around 4:44 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the incident.

Emergency crews respond to crash near Velarde

VELARDE, NM- According to NMRoads, first responders were called to the scene of an accident on NM 68 near mile marker 12 on Monday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 9:24 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
