Driver fatally collides with man sitting on bench at Santa Fe Place Mall

SANTA FE, NM – According to KRQE, a driver struck and killed a man sitting on a bench outside the Santa Fe Place Mall on Monday.

A Honda Civic driver thought they put the vehicle in drive, instead of reverse. They then hit the gas pedal and went over the curb and hit the 75-year-old man sitting on the bench around 4:35 p.m.

The driver is a bus driver for the City of Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the incident. They have not charged the driver at this time.

Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

Police ID victim of fatal hit-and-run crash on Cerrillos Road

SANTA FE, NM – The Santa Fe Police Department has released the name of the man who was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Cerrillos Road near Richards Avenue on Sunday.

Jeremy Lujan, 34, was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk when a person driving a silver pickup truck hit him at 2:26 a.m.

Following the crash, the driver continued driving south. They did not stop or notify authorities.

First responders transported Lujan to an area hospital, where he died.

BCFD vehicle involved in North Valley crash

NORTH VALLEY, NM – According to BCSO, a BCFD vehicle was involved in a collision at Osuna Road Northwest and 2nd Street Northwest on Monday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 5:41 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the crash.
