Driver dies after wreck on Bishops Lodge Rd in NE Santa Fe

SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — A 22-year-old man died Saturday following a motor vehicle crash on Bishops Lodge Road in northeast Santa Fe, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal accident happened at the road’s (New Mexico State Road 590) intersection with Rancho Escondido. Deputies were dispatched to the scene found the victim deceased shortly after.

No information regarding the circumstances of the wreck has been provided, but the Office of the Medical Investigator and the victim’s next of kin were both notified.

The SFCSO’s Traffic Homicide Investigation team is working to determine the factors of the incident.

It was not immediately clear how many vehicles were involved and whether anyone else suffered major injuries.
