Driver accused of causing fatal crash near Atrisco released to pretrial services

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KRQE, a driver accused of causing a deadly wreck on Central Ave SW near 47th St SW on Aug. 18 has been released into pretrial services.

Edgar Silva was driving a black Dodge pickup truck and was allegedly racing with another truck when he lost control of the Dodge and crashed into another vehicle, driven by Carlos Lucero, head on.

Lucero died in the accident. Paramedics transported Silva and his passenger to an area hospital.

APD eventually arrested Silva. The state asked that Silva remain in jail through the trial, but the judge denied the motion.

Semi-truck crash snarls traffic on I-40 near Carnuel

CARNUEL, NM – A semi-truck collision blocked traffic on I-40 Westbound at Exit 170 on Monday, according to BCSO.

The incident happened around 8:01 a.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the wreck.

Emergency crews respond to crash near Alban Hills

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to BCSO, first responders were called to the scene of an accident at La Orilla Rd NW WB and Coors Blvd NW on Monday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 7:02 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
