Deputy dies after colliding with semi-truck on Interstate 10 in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM – According to KRQE, a deputy died after his vehicle struck a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near Avenida de Mesilla on Tuesday.

Deputy Antonio Aleman, 33, was on duty when the crash occurred around 5 p.m.

First responders transported Aleman to an area hospital, where he died. It is unclear if the semi-truck driver was hurt in the incident.

Aleman is survived by his wife and two children. He joined the sheriff’s office in April 2021.

Driver hits pedestrian near Altura Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver struck and seriously injured a pedestrian near Carlisle Boulevard Northeast and Phoenix Avenue Northeast on Tuesday, according to KOAT.

The accident happened sometime Tuesday afternoon. First responders transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities urged motorists to avoid the area while the investigation into the crash was underway.

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.

At least 1 hurt in crash on Paseo Del Norte Boulevard Northeast near Eagle Ranch

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, at least one person was hurt in a crash on Paseo Del Norte Boulevard Northeast near Coors Boulevard Northwest Tuesday night.

Officials posted about the incident around 9:14 p.m.

Emergency crews shut down the area to process the scene.

Authorities urged motorists to use Alameda Boulevard Northwest or Montaño Road Northwest as alternate routes.
