Deputies offer reward for info on deadly hit-and-run suspect

SANTA FE, NM – According to KOB, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who allegedly fled the scene after fatally colliding with a woman on Paseo de Nopal on Oct. 15.

Mario Israel Mendez allegedly struck Monique Maes, 43, and two children, ages 8 and 12, around 6:10 p.m. before leaving the scene.

First responders transported Maes to an area hospital, where she died.

Authorities located the suspect’s vehicle and identified Mendez as the suspect. He faces charges, including homicide by vehicle and two counts of child abuse.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information regarding Mendez’s location.

Emergency crews respond to crash in north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – First responders were called to the scene of an accident at I-25 NB and Paseo Del Norte Blvd NE WB on Monday, according to APD Traffic.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 5:11 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Auto accident blocks traffic near South Broadway

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, a wreck disrupted traffic at I-25 SB and Avenida Cesa Chavez on Monday.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 4:07 p.m.

Officials have not released more details.
