ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday night while riding a bicycle in Albuquerque’s International District, according to KRQE.

Albuquerque Police said on Monday that the incident occurred near the intersection with Kentucky Street Southeast, just after 8:00 p.m.

An early investigation found that the male cyclist was crossing Zuni Road when he was hit by an eastbound Ford pickup truck. The driver then fled eastbound on Zuni Road and then went up Louisiana Boulevard.

First responders rushed the victim to UNM Hospital, where is was listed in critical condition.

At this time, authorities have not yet located the suspect or the fleeing vehicle, described as a gray or charcoal Ford F250, likely a 2020 model. It is believed to have sustained significant front-end damage and no back tailgate.
