Cyclist hospitalized after crash with ART bus in downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A bicyclist was critically injured late Tuesday night in a head-on collision with an ART bus near downtown Albuquerque, according to KRQE.

The accident took place on Central Avenue at Edith Boulevard, in the city’s Huning Highlands neighborhood.

An early investigation indicates the cyclist was riding westbound in the road’s ART lane when they collided head-on with the bus, which was heading eastbound in the lane.

Albuquerque Police Department said the rider was wearing dark colors and no lights were found on the bike.

The victim suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
