Crews respond to vehicle fire on Pat D’Arco Hwy.

RIO RANCHO, NM – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire along NM-528 in Rio Rancho yesterday.

According to the Rio Rancho Observer, the woman smelled smoke coming from her vehicle while driving along the roadway near 19th Street. She then parked the car to allow her and her passenger to get out before it caught fire.

Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue were able to get the fire under control quickly. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the blaze.

Traffic on NM-528 was reduced to one lane, causing significant delays for some time after the incident.
