
LUNA COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews were called to a tractor-trailer wreck Wednesday evening on Interstate 10 near west Deming, reports the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
The crash impacted the eastbound interstate at milepost 69, past Deming Station Road and Petro Travel Center. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 5:24 p.m.
Details remain limited at this time, but all eastbound lanes in the area were shut down as crews worked the scene.

Motorists were urged to slow down and use extra caution. By 6:18 p.m., eastbound traffic was being detoured at milepost 68 onto New Mexico State Road 418.

By 8:51 p.m., over three hours later, the roadway was reopened, but significant delays remained.
