Crews respond to rollover wreck on US-60 near SW Socorro

SOCORRO COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews were called to a crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 60 near southwest Socorro, reports the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred on the southbound highway at milepost 130, in an area west of Sixmile Canyon and Box Canyon. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 3:50 p.m.

No details on the circumstances behind the wreck have been shared, but all westbound lanes in the area were closed as a result.

Motorists were asked to slow down and exercise extreme caution as crews responded to the scene.


It remains unclear at this time whether anyone was seriously injured.
