Crews respond to collision on I-10 EB near west Lordsburg

HIDALGO COUNTY, NM — A vehicle accident Wednesday morning shut down Interstate 10 eastbound near west Lordsburg, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

The crash caused all eastbound lanes to close at milepost 9 shortly before 6:11 a.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but all westbound traffic was also forced to detour onto the frontage road.

Motorists were asked to exercise caution as emergency crews worked the scene.

At around 7:00 a.m., the eastbound interstate was reopened to traffic.


Authorities have not confirmed any injuries as of this writing.
