Collision in Albuquerque sends police officer, 3 others to hospital

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A collision on the West Side of Albuquerque sent four people to the hospital on Saturday, including a police officer, KOB reported.

The crash, which involved the officer’s vehicle and a Mercedes SUV, took place in the vicinity of Coors Boulevard and Irving Boulevard.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Mercedes driver crossed three lanes of stopped traffic to make a turn from northbound Coors Boulevard into a shopping center. At the same time the police vehicle was traveling in the fourth lane to the far right, and the vehicles collided, causing the SUV to overturn.

The police officer along with two adults and a child in the Mercedes sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. The couple in the Mercedes were cited for not having the child properly restrained in the car.

Crash shuts down lanes on Interstate 40 at Rio Grande

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported a crash was slowing traffic on Interstate 40 during Wednesday morning’s commute.

According to an advisory on NMRoads at 7:08 am., the wreck took place on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 156, at the Rio Grande bridge.

The two left lanes of the interstate were closed while first responders cleared the roadway. Drivers were advised to proceed with caution and expect delays.

Bridge Boulevard SW in South Valley closed due to accident

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – An accident caused lane closures in the South Valley on Tuesday night.

A traffic alert by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 8:47 p.m. stated all of westbound Bridge Boulevard SW was closed at Goff Boulevard SW during the crash response.

Drivers were advised to expect traffic delays in the area.
