Crash closes lanes, delays traffic on I-40 EB near Cuervo

GUADALUPE COUNTY, NM — A collision Monday morning completely shut down eastbound Interstate 40 for several hours near the town of Cuervo, reports NM Roads.

The accident was reported near mile marker 292, shortly before 9:07 a.m.

Officials have not disclosed details regarding the cause of the crash or the parties involved, but by 3:13 p.m., nearly six hours later, all eastbound lanes and shoulders remained blocked.

All eastbound motorists were being re-directed onto Frontage Road from Cuervo to Newkirk.

As of this writing, no injuries have been reported and no updates have been released.
