SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM — Rio Rancho Police were called to a wreck Sunday afternoon on Unser Boulevard in northwest Rio Rancho, according to the Rio Rancho Police Department.
The accident caused a span of the road to close in both directions between Cherry Road Northeast and Paseo del Volcan Boulevard Northeast. Officers responded to the scene shortly before 12:37 p.m.
Few details have been disclosed, but the closure was expected to remain in place for an extended time as authorities worked the scene.

By 6:15 p.m., more than five and a half hours later, the scene was announced cleared with all lanes reopened to traffic.

The RRPD has not shared information on the cause of the crash, the vehicles involved, or potential injuries.
