COLFAX COUNTY, NM — A vehicle wreck Monday shut down a section of New Mexico State Road 39 for hours near south Abbott, reports NM Roads.
The accident impacted both northbound and southbound lanes of NM-39 at mile marker 91. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 8:16 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved, but the entire road was closed in both directions.
As of 1:00 p.m., more than four hours after the crash, the closure remained in place.
Officials asked drivers to seek alternate routes, as no detours were available from the site of the crash.
As of this writing, no details regarding potential injuries have been shared.
