COLFAX COUNTY, NM — A vehicle wreck Sunday morning kept all southbound lanes of Interstate 25 closed for hours near Maxwell, according to NMRoads511.
The accident occurred on the southbound lanes at mile marker 426, near Chico Road. It was first recorded by NM Roads at 9:54 a.m.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the crash or details on the vehicles involved, but only the right lane was initially reported blocked. By 10:54 a.m., an hour later, the entire roadway and right shoulder was blocked off.

The closure remained in place for nearly four more hours, indicating a major crash and extended emergency response.
By 3:51 p.m., crews had cleared the accident from the roadway.
