
LUNA COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews were dispatched to a crash Friday afternoon on New Mexico State Road 549 near east Deming, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
The wreck occurred on the eastbound lanes of NM-549 at Stirrup Road Southeast (milepost 14). It was first recorded by NMDOT at 1:09 p.m.
Officials did not immediately share information regarding the cause of the accident or the vehicles involved, but both eastbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath.
Motorists were instructed to slow down and use extra caution as they approached the scene. Delays were expected in the area as crews worked to clear the roadway.
