Collision closes lane on I-40 WB near Albuquerque’s Netherwood Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon blocked a center lane for over an hour on Interstate 40 near northwest Albuquerque, according to NM Roads.

The accident was reported on the westbound interstate before University Boulevard Northeast, in the city’s Netherwood Park neighborhood. It was first recorded by NM Roads ay 4:03 p.m.

Few details have been disclosed at this time, but the closure remained in place for at least 90 minutes, indicating a major crash and extended emergency response.

Afternoon commuters were warned of delays and advised to take alternate routes.

Officials have not confirmed any injuries as of this writing.
