DOÑA ANA COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 10 near east Mesquite, reports NM Roads.
The crash occurred on the westbound interstate at County Road B059 (Exit 151), near Central Supply and Landmark Mercantile. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 12:19 p.m.
At this time, no details have been disclosed regarding the cause of the wreck, but the right travel lane was blocked as a result.
Drivers were urged to reduce speed and exercise caution while traveling past the scene.
Law enforcement officers and crews remained active on the scene as of 2:00 p.m., more than 90 minutes later, suggesting a major collision.
