HIDALGO COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews were dispatched to a commercial motor vehicle crash Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 70 near Lordsburg, according to NM Roads.
The accident impacted both eastbound and westbound lanes from mileposts 14 to 15, in an area about 9 to 10 miles southwest of Redrock. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 1:25 p.m.
Officials have not released a sequence of events leading up to the wreck, but travel lanes in both direction were reduced to just a single open lane. At the time of the initial report, a flagging operation was being established.
Motorists were instructed to slow down and use extra caution as they approach the scene. Delays were anticipated.
At this time, no major injuries have been confirmed.
