CMV overturns, closes part of I-25 NB north of Socorro

SOCORRO COUNTY, NM — Authorities were called to a rollover crash involving a commercial motor vehicle Monday afternoon on Interstate 25 in the Escondida area, according to NM Roads.

The accident occurred on the northbound lanes at Exit 152 to County Road 91, or New Mexico State Road 408. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index shortly before 2:00 p.m.

While it remains unclear why the vehicle overturned, all northbound lanes of I-25 were shut down in the area, leaving only the shoulder open for traffic to pass through.

Motorists were urged to slow down and use extra caution as they approach the scene, where emergency responders were working to clear the wreck. Delays were expected.
