QUAY CO., NM – A child was killed and a teen suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash near Wheatland on Tuesday afternoon.
According to KCBD, the 18-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle at about 1 p.m. along NM-469 between Grady and San Jon. The vehilce then skidded off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.
An 11-year-old passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to a hospital in Texas for treatment.
