Car accident causes power outage at high school in Rio Rancho

RIO RANCHO, NM – Power was restored to a school in Rio Rancho following an outage that was caused by a car crash on Sunday, the Rio Rancho Observe reports.

The crash damaged a transformer near Cleveland High School. Though Public Service Company of New Mexico reported that the issue had been repaired, school district crews found that the school remained without power on Monday morning, prompting classes to be cancelled for the day.

Only the high school was affected by the outage. No details were released on what led to the car accident.

BCSO responds to crash at Rio Bravo and Isleta Boulevards

ALBUQURQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office was called to a crash in South Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a traffic alert posted at 1:50 p.m., the incident occurred in the area of Isleta Boulevard SW and Rio Bravo SW,

The southbound to eastbound turn lane was shut down while BCSO deputies were investigating and clearing the scene.

Heavy delays reported on I-25 northbound due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Drivers encountered major traffic disruptions along Interstate 25 during Wednesday morning’s commute due to an accident.

An advisory on NMRoads at 7:01 a.m. stated that the wreck took place on I-25 northbound at mile marker 227 in the vicinity of Comanche Road.

The left two northbound lanes on the interstate were shut down as emergency crews responded. Drivers were advised to expect heavy delays.
