BCSO responds to wreck on Dennis Chavez Blvd in SW Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Deputies were called to a collision late Monday that blocked part of eastbound Dennis Chavez Boulevard in southwest Albuquerque, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident impacted the eastbound lanes at Atrisco Vista Boulevard, in an area west of Atrisco Heritage Academy High School. It was first tweeted by the BCSO shortly before 11:00 p.m., when deputies had already arrived on the scene.

Officials have not specified the cause of the wreck or indicated the number of vehicles involved, but eastbound Dennis Chavez Boulevard remained closed for nearly an hour.

By 11:55 p.m., the scene had been cleared and all lanes were announced reopened.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured and/or had to be taken to a hospital.
