BCSO responds to multiple crashes on I-40 WB near Tijeras

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Deputies responded to a group of crashes Tuesday morning on Interstate 40 near Tijeras Canyon, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The collisions were reported on the westbound interstate at mile marker 172, near the exit to the village of Tijeras, shortly before 7:55 a.m.

Officials have not said how many vehicles were involved, but construction in the area is believed to have been a factor.

Several lanes were shut down during the emergency response.


At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed any serious injuries.
