BCSO responds to crash on NM-423 at Rio Grande in north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A multi-vehicle collision was reported Tuesday morning on New Mexico State Road 423 at Rio Grande in north Albuquerque, reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened on the eastbound highway (Paseo Del Norte Boulevard Northeast) shortly before 7:16 a.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but officials indicated “multiple” vehicles were involved and came to rest in one traffic lane.

Commuters were warned of delays impacting the area as a tow truck made its way to the scene. At the time of the first report, traffic was backed up past Eagle Ranch Road.

At about 8:00 a.m., nearly 45 minutes later, the scene had cleared and all lanes were reopened to normal traffic.
