BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — BCSO deputies responded to a vehicle crash late Wednesday morning on Interstate 40 near east Carnuel, reports KRQE.
The accident was reported on the eastbound lanes near mile marker 172, shortly before 10:45 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but all eastbound traffic was forced to divert through one open lane.
Drivers were told to expect heavy delays in the area.
As of this writing, officials have not released any information regarding potential injuries.
