ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A multi-truck accident Sunday morning closed a section of westbound Interstate 40 in west Albuquerque, reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO officials and New Mexico State Police responded to the scene on the westbound interstate at Atrisco Vista Boulevard (Exit 149), near the city’s Westland Row neighborhood. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 10:10 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the crash, but multiple semi-trucks were impacted and the westbound lanes remained blocked for about an hour.
By 12:10 p.m., the roadway was reopened.

As of this writing, authorities have not disclosed any details regarding potential injuries.
