ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person died Sunday evening following a collision on South Frontage Road in Albuquerque’s West of Westland area, according to KOAT.
The fatal wreck occurred on a span of the road (Speedway Park Boulevard) near the intersection with Shelly Drive Southwest, along Interstate 40. Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene shortly after 7:00 p.m.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the accident or any details on the involved parties, but deputies arrived to find at least one person seriously hurt.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A section of South Frontage Road was blocked off during the response and initial investigation.
