
BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — At least one person was killed Thursday morning in a motor vehicle wreck on New Mexico State Road 337 near southeast Tijeras, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal accident was reported on a stretch of NM-337 at mile marker 15, less than a mile south of Bearcat Road. By the time it was reported by the BCSO at 5:37 a.m., deputies had already arrived on the scene.
Details remain limited, but both northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were closed in the area during the emergency response and initial investigation. Motorists were asked to find alternate routes.

At this time, the sheriff’s office has not indicated a cause of the crash or the types of vehicles involved. The number of those killed and injured has not been confirmed.
