BCSO deputies respond to accident on I-40 EB near Tijeras

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Deputies responded to a vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 near west Tijeras, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision took place on the eastbound interstate near Exit 175 to the village, shortly before 6:07 a.m.

No information has been provided regarding the parties involved, but only two eastbound lanes remained open during the emergency response.

The scene remained on the interstate for nearly three hours, indicating a major accident.

By 8:53 a.m., all lanes were reopened.


As of this writing, officials have not confirmed any injuries in the event.
