BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Deputies responded to a crash Tuesday morning involving an overturned semi-truck on Interstate 40 near Tijeras, reports the Bernalillo Count Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at mile marker 174, impacting the I-40 westbound onramp from New Mexico State Road 337 and Arrowhead Trail. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 9:49 a.m.
Details remain limited, but the rollover crash created a “hazmat situation,” on the roadway, prompting an extended clearance time.

No injuries have been confirmed, but the ramp stayed closed for at least five hours.
