BCSO called to multi-vehicle crash on Montaño Bridge in NW Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A multi-vehicle accident was reported Wednesday evening on Montaño Road Northeast in northwest Albuquerque, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck took place on the westbound lanes at the Rio Grande, over the Montaño Bridge. It was first reported by the BCSO at 6:39 p.m.

Officials have not shared the cause of the collision, but three vehicles were involved.

All westbound traffic was forced to get by through a single open lane, causing delays in the area.

At 8:16 p.m., nearly 90 minutes later, the vehicles had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to normal traffic.


The sheriff’s office has not indicated any injuries in the event.
