Authorities respond to crash on I-40 WB in Albuquerque’s Laurelwoods area

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A collision Thursday evening closed two right lanes and the right shoulder on Interstate 40 in northwest Albuquerque, reports NMRoads511.

The accident impacted the westbound interstate at Unser Boulevard (mile marker 154), near the city’s Laurelwoods neighborhood. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 6:37 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved, but the closure remained in place for more than an hour.

At 7:40 p.m., crews had cleared the scene from the interstate and all lanes were reopened.


Officials have not confirmed any injuries.
