Authorities arrest 2 people for hit-and-run motorcycle crash near Nob Hill

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOAT, authorities have arrested a couple for a hit-and-run motorcycle collision near Nob Hill on Sunday.

Anthony Nez, 27, was allegedly behind the wheel of a maroon Chevy Avalanche when he collided with a motorcyclist near Girard Boulevard Northeast and Central Avenue Northeast Sunday.

An off-duty police service aide saw the Avalanche enter an apartment complex on San Mateo Boulevard Northeast. The Avalanche was found to be covered in blood and have clothing stuck in a wheel well. The PSA witnessed Nez, who reportedly appeared impaired, fall out of the driver’s seat.

A woman was observed getting out of the Avalanche and removing alcohol containers from the SUV. A 5-year-old and a 6-year-old, who exited the back seat of the vehicle, were later found unsupervised in the apartment.

Officers arrested Nez and the woman, Raquel Blanco, 22. Authorities charged Nez with DWI causing great bodily harm, child abuse, and leaving the scene of an accident. Blanco was charged with child abuse, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, and tampering with evidence.

1 hurt in pedestrian collision in northeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A person was hurt in a pedestrian collision in northeast Albuquerque on Tuesday.

A driver struck the pedestrian at Wyoming Boulevard Northeast and Montgomery Boulevard Northeast.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The Albuquerque Police Department’s fatal crash team is investigating the incident.

Auto accident disrupts traffic near SR Marmon

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, an accident near SR Marmon blocked traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to a crash at Interstate 40 westbound and Coors Boulevard Northwest around 3:58 p.m.

Officials have not provided additional details.
