LAS CRUCES, NM – New developments were reported by KFOX 14 in a crash that injured three people in Las Cruces recently.
The incident occurred March 14 in the area of Triviz Drive and Cholla Road. An initial investigation determined that a driver was headed south on Triviz Drive at about 2 a.m. and did not stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicle went through a fence and into solar panels near the campus of New Mexico State University.
NMSU police believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the accident. They said they have now drafted an arrest warrant for several charges in the case, including great bodily harm by vehicle (driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or any drug), aggravated driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs (bodily injury), and reckless driving.
According to the report, police have also executed various search warrants to obtain the operational data of the vehicle, evidence inside the vehicle, and information to confirm the identity of the driver.
