APD responds to school bus crash in Albuquerque’s McKinley area

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Multiple parked vehicles were struck in a school bus crash Thursday morning on Candelaria Road in northeast Albuquerque, reports KRQE.

Albuquerque Police were called to the scene near Montclaire Drive Northeast in the city’s McKinley neighborhood.

According to officials, students from McKinley Middle School were riding a school bus when its driver, who was a substitute that day, overcorrected during a turn. The maneuver caused the bus to hit a parked car, which was thrown into multiple other parked cars.

No injuries to any of the students or the driver were reported.

The department has not released further information on the event at this time.
